If so, what tools do you use to monitor and track usage? What do you like or dislike about the tools you use? Did you use other tools in the past? If so, why did you switch?

Hello,

I would really like to be able to see what the RSSI is of the client radio that is connected to an AP in Victor along with the other information. Just as a quick reference to be able to check if someone is getting a really bad signal, without having to log into any access points to check manually.

Thank you in advance,

Hello,

I know you are aware of this, but I would just like to post on here that I would like to see the Tranzeo extended information be available to the status page of the EL-500. I rely on it quite a bit for network management and would really appreciate it, if it was brought back.

Thank you in advance,

Hello,

I just thought I would post a few tricks I have learned or observed while installing over 170 radios on clients' premises.

1. If you are using an N connector radio, try and keep the plastic side of the radio "Up" so as to create a roof for the weather cap and cables.

2. I usually use a 3/8 wood bit to drill a hole in the wall and then I leave the bit in the wall. I go on the other side and "screw" the cable onto the wood bit as it has threads on the point which makes it way easier to pull through walls that may have a lot of insulation.

3. Make sure you get a really good crimper, or replace them every couple of months as the teeth get worn down. I use a Paladin crimper with replaceable dies for the teeth so you don't have to replace the whole crimper, just the dies.

4. Always make sure you use quality tape for the N-connector ends to the radio and antenna, if it requires. I use plumbers white tape on the threads before I screw them on and then 3M tape on the outside to seal it tight.

5. Use a quality stapler with rounded staples to tack up the cable to the house. You want it to hold firm, but not to be too loose or to pinch the cable and cause a break.

That's all I can think of at the moment and I'm sure there are many better ones that people have to share, which I hope to hear.

Regards,

Hello,

I'm not sure if it is a good idea or not, but why not put 4 more solid bolts on the corners to hold down the weather cap. If you screw the middle of them too tight it seems the more the corners raise, granting access to water and moisture. I know you have done many dunk tests to see if they are waterproof or not, but I have been experiencing more moisture problems over a few months and was just wondering if this might be an idea to pursue.

Thank you in advance,

I have a few solar sites, and found out over the last few years that the size and temp ratings of batteries is very important. Snow sticking to panels is a problem, January has little sun so make battery bank size to run system a least 6 weeks.

When you send an installer into the field, what do you expect him/her to take along?

How does the type of installation (customer installation, tower site, single AP, etc) change this?

In your business, which tools and equipment are deemed to be 'company supplied' and which are deemed to be 'employee supplied'?

If some of the tools and equipment are employee supplied, do you provide a tool allowance for any of it, or is the employee expected to purchase and maintain the gear at his/her own expense?
